This initial visit can take up to 3 hours. During the visit we will discuss the following:

• Your likes and dislikes
• Which furnishings you would like to keep
• How you would like to use the space
• Budget
• Initial colour consultation
• Interior magazines and books to inspire and prompt ideas

Once an initial idea has been agreed upon I will research on your behalf. There are two ways of doing this

1. Mood Boards – I create mood boards and present them to you at your home home for discussion and feedback. The boards can include ideas for fabrics, colours, furniture, furnishings, accessories, flooring, tiling depending on the project requirements. It can take up to three weeks to gather all the relevant samples.
2. Personal shopping trip – I take you on a personal shopping trip to fabric or furniture stores so you can have direct input on the design process and you can order items on the day. For example, flooring, tiles, curtain fabric by the roll, lamps, rugs. Trips can include visits to auction houses and galleries, antique shops, high street shops, discount stores etc. This service will be tailored your budget and how much time you have available. Once a design has been agreed a schedule of works is drawn up to include services such as painting and decorating, carpentry, curtain making, upholstery, mosaic design, decorative painting etc.

1. Full service – I can provide introductions to trusted tradespeople and project manage their work. This can include specialists such as mosaic artists and decorative painters.
2. Independent service - You are welcome to use your own tradespeople. In this case I would simply provide initial guidance for the overall design. This option excludes project management.

Once the basics are in place it's time to shop for accessories such as lighting, cushions, rugs, artwork, mirrors and other items to dress the space.

This can also include reworking or revamping existing items within your house. If you have previously chosen a personal shopping trip this step may not be necessary.
